After attending the School of Journalism in Turin Emanuele specialized in photojournalism and started working for TIME magazine on a drug addiction story in Russia. The project, 'Krokodil Tears' was selected by TIME among the best publications of 2013 and was part of TIME's First Place Magazine editing portfolio Poyi 2013. Emanuele has also worked on the issue of immigration in Central America with the project 'In the Bag for North', a still life work published on TIME and other international magazines. Moreover he has been traveling in north Iraq documenting the operation to liberate Mosul from Isis. The work received a POYi award in the ‘Impact 2016 - Islamic State Conflict’ category.

His pictures appeared in many publications including TIME, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Washington Post, WIRED, Stern, Internazionale, Rolling Stone, Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica among others.

He's currently based in Istanbul.
